The Island starts a bit slow with very 1-dimensional characters. Don't stop reading. Once they get to the island, the action is non-stop the rest of the way (I had to read it in one sitting) and the characters become more complex. There are some surprises towards the end in this horror-sci-fi-thriller of a book.4/5(40).
